"Novel EV multi-material platform design made to be reused and recycled that boasts a mass reduction of 146 kg, which translates to a 26% weight reduction compared to the baseline BEV."
This was the main conclusion of the ALMA poster at #MATCOMP23, one of Spain’s foremost congress in the field of #composites and high-performance #materials. The conference provided ALMA with the perfect platform to share our innovative work with industry professionals, academicians, and fellow innovators. Raquel Ledo and Alberto Tielas were there on behalf of CTAG – Centro Tecnológico de Automoción de Galicia, coordinators of the project.
Our poster illustrated ALMA’s pioneering approach to #lightweighting, focusing on the use of novel materials for the automotive industry, all the while ensuring a greater circularity and sustainability by integrating life extension as well as end-of-life scenarios into the design stage. The environmental credentials of the design options were all validated through our easy to use BEVSIM system that gives the power of LCA to non-expert users.
We are grateful for the opportunity to share our work at such an esteemed event, and the interactions have further motivated us to continue pushing the boundaries in material innovation. Our participation in MATCOMP23 underscores our commitment to fostering dialogue and sharing knowledge to accelerate the development of lightweight materials for a greener and more efficient future. We look forward to many more opportunities to connect with the global materials community.
For those who couldn’t attend MATCOMP23, we invite you to explore our work in detail on our website, where you can find more comprehensive information along with other project updates.
